The studios are making things difficult for their only customers, the people not willing to pay are not customers or even potential customers until prices are lowered, but that's from economics 101. Pirates will pirate, DRM will always be cracked, people who don't want to pay will get the movies for free, so why make things a pain in the ass for people willing to pay. I can't excuse them but they seem to be doing ok for people in this thread but the average consumer won't know how to deal with them.
The movie studios don't know a thing about customer support or after purchase servicing. The thing is that most electronics companies and in this situation Movie studios never delt with customers, bestbuy and al always did.
This all reminds me of a recent article on theverge website about Samsung dissing customers on android updates and they are now reconsidering. It's dumb that you have to go through this, but at least Flixster was pleasent about it I suppose.
